Hair Wrap
Over the years I tend to vary if I have long hair or short hair. I tend to get annoyed with it and grow it out. Then realize that I always just have my hair in a ponytail, so I decide to chop it all off. And so the cycle continues. Right now I have long hair as I still haven’t gotten it cut since pre-pandemic. It’s just easier to throw in a braid or pony tail while I’m still working from home.
But one thing is the same regardless if I have long or short hair- I hate having water running down my back from my hair when I get out of the shower. Having very thick hair means there is always lots of water. But having a normal bath towel on your head isn’t the easiest either. It tends to be over-sized, which means it is heavy and often doesn’t stay where it should. So I went searching for the solution.
I found this pattern for the hair towel and knew that it could be adapted for people with both long and short hair. Also, using the 24/7 cotton yarn by Lion Brand was going to be an excellent choice. This 100 percent cotton yarn is perfect for this project. The cotton allows it to soak up the water from your hair, but also dry fairly quickly once you hang it up. It’s also amazing to use 100% cotton since it’s a great eco-friendly product. It is sustainable, renewable and biodegradable. So it’s a win-win with mother earth.
Light Blue and Dark Blue Hair Wrap
This hair towel is designed with an elastic hair tie on the big end. This way you can slip the towel over your head, twist it with your hair inside, and then attach it to the hair tie. This allows it to stay in place on top of your head.
I love this cotton yarn so much. I have so many other products that are made from it as well. Like the newly released tote bag, Face wipes, loofahs, oven mitts, pot holders and wash cloths just to name a few. I love the way that this cotton feels. And it’s great for products that are close to your skin. Plus throwing it in the washing machine when you are done is also a great perk!

One of the things that I like best about this cotton is that it comes in some fun colors! There is a neutral cream and charcoal as well as bright pinks and blues. There is definitely a color for everyone! This hair towel can be made in one solid color or a choice of 2 colors! The large almost half would be in the main color you choose, with the other half in the second color. The whole wrap would then be outlined in the main color. It is a great product that will fit your personality perfectly with your favorite color.

These hair wraps are the perfect luxury spa item that is much needed in the self care arena. Can you make by without one? Sure, but do you have to? No! Sometimes just the little extras in your life make slowing down and enjoying something for yourself, like a nice hot shower and comfort. The only question is- what color(s) do you love best?
