Hat vs Ear Warmer

I live in the Pacific Northwest in a city called Bellingham. Here in Bellingham we still average 40 degree weather in January and February, which means that hats, ear warmers and gloves are still a necessity. 

But it brings up the questions- when in cool weather, do you prefer a hat or an ear warmer? Both are excellent options for keeping the cold out. The best being that both keep your ears covered and out of the elements. Both are stylish and can go with any outfit. They both are also oh so cozy and feel great on your skin!
