Goal Setting

After you find out What is Your Why (See previous Blog Post), it will be much easier to set your goal. Remember why you want to do this, and it will be the driving force behind making sure you hit your goal.

What would you like to achieve? Make it a SMART Goal. (Specific, Measurable, Attenable, Relevant, and Time Bound). Is this an income goal for your new business? Is this a lifestyle change? Maybe you just want to sell enough so that your hobby starts paying for itself. What ever it is, find it and write it down. Better yet- Make a vision board!

One you set a large goal, you then need to break it down so it’s not so overwhelming. What are all the steps that need to happen in order for you to reach that goal? Do you need to sell X amount of items? Maybe you need to increase your social following so that more people see your product? It’s more likely that there are many moving parts that need to happen in order for your one large goal to happen. So write them all down. Just do a brain dump and write down all the things you think will need to happen to get there.

Now, pick one of those things and work on that. Don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to do it all at once. It won’t happen! You will either be exhausted, or your why will get lost as you no longer have time for it. Now you don’t have to work on ONLY that one thing, but start with just that one. Once you get it to a good place, then move on to another avenue, and return to the first once you feel like it’s a good time. Then continue to do this until all the things are up and running and working together to get you to your goal!

My Big Goal- Have enough income from my crochet business to cover vacations, Family insurance, my own fun money, and all business expenses, so that I can quit my job when my son starts kindergarten in the fall of 2023.

Now some of the avenues that I need to do to get there are:

Build A Website

Start My Blog

Sell on My Website

Sell on Etsy

Craft Fair Sales

Increase Instagram Traffic

Pinterest Traffic

Facebook Page and Group

Ad Revenue

Improve Product Photos and Descriptions

As you can see, there are many different things that I can do to get to my end goal. I just need to remember what my Why is and it will help encourage me to keep going. The biggest thing I need to remember is that it doesn’t need to be perfect. If I focus too much on making everything perfect, I would never move to the next thing. It may not be perfect, but it’s still going to be great.

What’s your why? What’s your goal? How are you going to get there? Let me know in the comments.
